SABAM

SABAM is a multidisciplinary authors’ society and it represents in this capacity most of the artistic disciplines.
Music, cinema, theatre, plastic arts have consequently their place among the internal events that SABAM proposes in order to support the authors from these different disciplines.

Further to numerous substantive discussions and on the insistence of several directors eager to gather the scriptwriters, directors and other players of the audiovisual sector around a common main activity, SABAM has decided to launch the Midis du Doc. Alternately, a French-speaking and a Dutch-speaking documentary film are showed in presence of the author and of a public made up of cinema professionals. A debate follows each screening.

The Mercredi du Livre takes place every first Wednesday of the month: the spotlight is turned on a literary author, in presence of a public made up of professionals of the literary world.

The Apéro Galerie is an event that is organized every two months. Photographers, plastic and graphic artists, sculptors have the opportunity to put their work forward and to exhibit it on SABAM’s walls for the greatest pleasure of the present public, made up of professionals.

The yearly SABAM Photo Award contest rewards a humoristic picture shot by a press journalist within the context of his professional activity.

Finally, we have a new event, Aperorire (French) and Aperocomedy (Dutch). A humouristic event with publicans and stand-up comedians.
