If your film is screened in a cinema or at a festival, you will not receive royalties through Sabam for those screenings if you are the screenwriter or director.
Why? In practice, these rights are usually assigned to the producer under your production agreement. As a result, screenwriters and directors are remunerated directly by the producer.
