How is your income calculated?
That depends on:
- the platform or channel on which your work appears
- the way your work is used (full recording, excerpt, etc.)
- the reach and visibility of that use
- your contribution to the work
Online use takes many different forms. For example, a full recording on a streaming platform is not compensated in the same way as a short clip on social media.
Good to Know
- It’s not always easy to track online use. The better your work is documented (title, creators, details), the better we can identify and process its use. This allows us to ensure that you receive what you’re entitled to.
