Participate in a Songwriting Camp

Are you a songwriter taking part in a songwriting camp? Sabam can contribute up to €1,000 towards your travel and accommodation costs.

Purpose of the grant

This grant provides financial support to songwriters for travel and accommodation expenses incurred while participating in songwriting camps where new music is created on commission.

How much funding can I receive?

Sabam contributes up to €1,000 towards the travel and accommodation costs of songwriters participating in commissioned songwriting camps.

Who is eligible?

You may apply if:

• you are a member of Sabam.
• You are writing or composing on commission for a specific artist or band and are not part of their regular line-up.
  
• Your application is submitted at least two weeks before the start of the songwriting session.
  
  

This grant cannot be combined with:

• Contemporary classical composition grants
• Original film music grants
• Stage music grants
• Music for audiovisual series
• Grants for organising a songwriting camp

Deadline

Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis until the available budget has been exhausted.

To receive payment of the grant, you must provide:

• Proof of payment of your travel and accommodation expenses.
• Proof that you are a co-author, composer and/or arranger of at least one new musical work. You must also provide proof that the work has been registered with Sabam and indicate the performer and, where applicable, the release date (if known).
• Feedback via the form provided by Sabam.
  
  

Which costs are eligible?

Only travel and accommodation expenses directly related to participation in the commissioned writing session are eligible.

Sabam reimburses 50% of these costs, up to a maximum of €1,000.

If accommodation costs are included in a participation fee, 40% of that fee will be considered accommodation costs. Sabam will reimburse 50% of that 40% amount.

Assessment of your application

Applications are assessed within 15 working days based on the criteria above. Sabam reserves the right to:

• Reject certain expenses;
• Refuse applications that do not comply with the eligibility criteria or the regulations of the Sabam Cultural Fund
• Refuse applications once the available budget has been exhausted.
• Publicly communicate the awarding of the grant once approved.
  
  

Payment conditions

Sabam reimburses 50% of eligible travel and accommodation costs, up to a maximum of €1,000.

The grant will be paid in full once all supporting documents and feedback have been received.
