What are definitively non-distributable rights?
Sometimes, we are unable to immediately link royalties to a rights holder. If we are still unable to identify the rights holder within 36 months after the financial year in which the royalties were invoiced, these royalties are considered definitively non-distributable.
These royalties do not remain unused. Once a year, they are redistributed within the relevant distribution.
What does this mean for you?
You receive a share of these royalties in proportion to the amount you have already received from that same distribution during the year. The larger your share of that distribution, the larger your share of the non-distributable royalties.
