What is freedom of panorama?

Freedom of panorama means that you may take and distribute photographs of three-dimensional works that are permanently located in public places, such as sculptures and buildings. You do not need permission from the rights holders to do so.

However, permission is required in the following cases:

• if you use the photographs for commercial or advertising purposes
• if you alter the work, for example by creating a drawing, painting or making any other graphic adaptation of it
