That you will receive royalties is almost certain because Sabam has concluded agreements with most online music services (YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Discover the complete list here. 

How many royalties? Unfortunately, we cannot give you a straight answer to that question. We can explain however how your online rights are invoiced and distributed:

Sabam invoices online music services a percentage of their revenues. We invoice on the basis of:

• their revenues from advertisements;
• and their revenues from subscriptions. 

We distribute these amounts per work on the basis of the number of views or streams in the period to which the invoicing relates: per month, quarter or year. 

The amount per view or stream therefore varies depending on:

• the type of revenue;
• and the period in which the revenue was generated. 

So for instance, if a song on Spotify is streamed by a paying user, the revenue generated is different to that generated by a free user listening to the same song with ads. 

Therefore, a calculation per view or stream is not straightforward.
