Partner with Sabam to create international impact for Belgian creators

Are you organizing an event, program, or initiative between September 1 and December 31, 2027, that helps Belgian creators reach an international audience? If so, we invite you to submit a partnership proposal.

Who is this for?

This call for proposals is exclusively for new applications for events or initiatives taking place during this period.

Was your organization already a partner in 2026? If so, you do not need to submit a new application. Your application will be re-evaluated based on:

  • the evaluation of the collaboration in 2026
  • the opportunities within the 2027 focus areas

You will receive a decision regarding the continuation of the partnership sometime in June.

Expand International Reach
Focus 2027: Export

In 2027, the focus will be on one clear priority: creating more opportunities for our members’ repertoire on international stages and markets.

This focus is part of a three-year strategic plan (2026–2028), developed in response to an impact study conducted by the University of Antwerp.

The themes for each year:

  • 2026 – Creation
  • 2027 – Export
  • 2028 – Transdisciplinarity

This approach allows us to build our support step by step, in line with the evolving needs of our authors and publishers.

Our Goal
What types of projects are we looking for?

We are looking for partners who can contribute to:

  • the international distribution of works from the Sabam repertoire;

  • greater visibility for Belgian creators within European and global networks;

  • removing barriers to international development;

  • knowledge sharing, guidance, and strategy development related to international growth;

  • sustainable connections between Belgian creators and international players.

We seek partnerships that not only support an event or initiative but, above all, create a lasting impact on our members’ career development.

What kinds of partnerships are we looking for?

Professional development with international impact

You are organizing an initiative that connects Belgian creators with international platforms, markets, or professional networks.
For example, showcases, pitches, professional meetings, or international distribution programs within a foreign network

Your project:
✔ is organized by a professional organization with an international reach
✔ offers Belgian creators concrete professional visibility
✔ is part of an international ecosystem (festival, market, network, platform, etc.)
✔ creates opportunities to present Belgian repertoire to a primarily professional audience

International exchanges, residencies, and co-creations

You bring together Belgian and international creators to exchange knowledge, collaborate on projects, and build new networks.

Your project:
✔ is supported by an organization with the necessary artistic and organizational expertise
✔ fosters a balanced collaboration between Belgian and international participants
✔ encourages co-creation between Belgian and European authors and creators
✔ provides for professional follow-up, such as presentations, productions, distribution, or professional meetings

Professional development for international growth

You help Belgian companies establish a stronger and more sustainable presence in international markets.
For example, workshops on international career development, training courses on international markets, coaching programs, guidance on export strategies, or sessions on contract negotiation, management, and international positioning.

Your project:
✔ provides creators with practical knowledge and skills to become active internationally
✔ provides group guidance, coaching, or training
✔ helps creators develop sustainable international opportunities

Our partnership vision

We develop collaborations with organisations that contribute to the growth, visibility and international opportunities of creators.
We place particular importance on:

  • connections between disciplines, ranging from music and audiovisual creation to literature, visual arts, and performing arts;

  • diversity, inclusion, and artistic innovation in all its forms;

  • initiatives that create new opportunities for authors, composers, publishers, and other creators;

  • a lasting impact on the professional development and careers of our members.

Projects that build bridges between different disciplines or bring together creators from Belgium’s various language communities align closely with our ambitions and receive special attention from the Commission.

Interested in a partnership in 2027?

Are you organizing an initiative between September 1 and December 31, 2027, that aligns with our focus on international development and the export of Belgian repertoire?

If so, please submit your proposal by November 16, 2026.
The applications will be reviewed by the Commission on December 14, 2026.
You will then receive a decision between December 15 and 23, 2026.
