  • Music publisher

    You have concluded an agreement with one or more authors to publish their musical works? Arrange your membership as a music publisher with these documents:

    • the application form for membership as a publisher, completed and signed by the owner, the manager or the representative of the publishing company;
    • a copy of the deed that you have filed with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises, stating your position as a publisher or a description of your activity in royalties management and your company name;
    • only for legal persons: a copy of the articles of association published in the Belgian Official Gazette, stating your position as a publisher and your company name;
    • for the publishing fund:
      • an original or co-publishing contract with declaration form(s) of the published works, signed by all rightholders, as well as the declaration form agreement original publication;
      • or a sub-publishing contract signed by both parties regarding either individual assignments for a number of works or general representation of a publishing catalogue that falls under the collective management of a Belgian copyright management organisation, as well as the declaration form agreement sub-publication;
      • or a contract for the acquisition of a publishing fund signed by both parties.
    • proof that the works you have published have been used publicly (e.g. by communication to the public or reproduction) during the last two years before your membership application.

  • Literary publisher

    You have concluded an agreement with one or more authors to publish their literary works? Arrange your membership as a literary publisher with these documents:

    • the membership application form as a publisher, completed and signed by the owner, the manager or representative of the publishing company ;
    • a copy of the deed that you have filed with the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises, stating your position as a publisher and your company name;
    • only for legal persons:
      • a copy of the Articles of Association of the company as published in the Belgian Official Gazette, stating your function as a publisher and the name under which your company carries out its publishing activities;
      • proof that you are a shareholder, legal representative, director or manager of the publishing company, insofar as this is not stated in the Articles of Association;
    • an original publishing contract with declaration form(s) of the published works, signed by all rightholders;
    • proof that the works you have published have been used publicly (e.g. by communication to the public or reproduction) during the last two years before your membership application.

     

    Please send these documents, completed and signed, to affiliation@sabam.be.

Are you an heir of a deceased Sabam member? Please provide us with the following information:

  • the first name and surname of the Sabam member;
  • the date of death;
  • your contact details.

Please add:

  • a notarial deed, drawn up and signed by a notary, or a certificate of inheritance. You can apply for this at the registration office of the FPS Finance in the member's place of residence.
  • a double-sided copy of your identity card.
    Does the member have several heirs? Then please add a double-sided copy of the identity card of the person who will represent the heirs at Sabam.

Please note: If you are solely a performer or producer, you will not receive any authors’ rights, but related rights. These are managed by PlayRight or SIMIM.
